Hang Onto the Promise

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the Lord delivers him out of them all.”       Psalm 34:19

Over the years, whenever I read this verse, my emphasis and focus was on the opening portion. Perhaps because I could identify best with that. Small and large, afflictions seemed to abound and with no time limit on trials they never seemed to cease. But the focus needs to shift to the promise rather than the fact. It is a fact we will suffer and be afflicted, but it is a promise that we will be delivered.

If you find yourself in this place, remember to hang onto the promise.
