Help me to be who I am inside. The cleaned up, purified, glorified by You version.
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:13-14
Maura hadn’t intended for her mother to see the framed portrait she painted, but here she stood before her holding it in her hands, Maura’s pounding heart ravaging her chest, preparing for what she knew was coming.
Her mother looked from the portrait to Maura and turning her nose up, she said, “You think that’s good?”
Not anymore she didn’t. She had been proud of the piece, which was a rare reaction, and now, she couldn’t bear the sight of it. Read the rest of this entry »
